beginning ballet (15 min workout)

Apparatus:
Level: All Levels
Description:

You don't need a baby to work on some basic ballet skills! I just happened to have one that I'm quite attached to these days, so he came along for the video. As I make my way back into aerial shape, I've been working more on the ground and ballet is great for working on articulating your feet.

If ballet isn't your thing, this video is perfect for you because it's very basic. And if you are familiar with ballet, its always good to revisit the foundamentals. This was actually quite hard for me because I had to concentrate so hard on my feet. It was mentally exhausting, but oh so good!!!

It helps to have something to hold on to. At home, a chair works great. Ballet can be done barefoot, with ballet shoes, or my personal favorite - with socks. It helps to slide the balls of the foot along the floor, and if your feet stick to the floor like mine do, having socks on the balls of your feet can be helpful. For this video, I didn't have any socks, so I grabbed what I had around - split clothes and hair ties. I tied the split cloth around my toes - and voila! It totally worked.
